Fronsac and other right bank

Château Puygueraud, Cotes de Franc - £99 per 12                           add to basket

armit: 15
Jancis: 16
Wine Spectator: 87-90

From the tiny Côtes de Francs appellation, Puygueraud is Merlot dominated but has an important Malbec and Cabernet component and these hardier varieties have definitely excelled here in 2009, lifting the quality further. Ripe, bright raspberry notes with a little wood spice, the wine shows good freshness on the palate, polished tannins, a nice clean balanced finish and should be good to drink from the off. Excellent value. Drinking dates 2010-2018. - armit

Deep purple. Very sweet and unctuous and should be VGV. Exotic, plush, very purple tasting. Drink 2015-2024 - Jancis Robinson
