Crozes Hermitage Blanc 2010

£115 per 12 IB

Fresh and fragrant aromas with stone fruit, floral notes and white peach. Creamy fruit weight on the palate - good richness without being fat - and a rounded, buttery feel with apricot and lemon flavours. Good zingy acidity to balance.

  

Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2010

Florent Viale showed us 3 barrel samples. Sample 1 was dense and powerful with plenty of brambly berry fruits, grippy tannins and lively acidity. Barrel 2 also had a firm structure with more dark fruits and dark chocolate. Barrel 3 was more elegant with a softer mouthfeel, rounded red and black fruit flavours and delicious black fruit and spice. The finished blend should be excellent.

Hermitage Rouge 2010

Inky black in colour. Concentrated blackcurrant aromas spring from the glass, with some bitter chocolate too. Rich, opulent black fruits on the palate with lots of depth of flavour. Concentrated and succulent on the palate with lots of purity of fruit. The fruit blast falls to the background to bring forward notes of anise, spice, herb and pepper. Plush and plump with grainy tannins and a lively acidity. Pure, concentrated and elegant. Outstanding.
