What are my armit account details?
Once you have registered with us or have bought wine from us we automatically created an account for you. You might have ordered from us by phone, by post or by email. Your records will be stored on our system and in order for our website to recognise you as a customer, we need two important details from you:
- your account code – comprising a 3 letters plus, 3 or 4 digit e.g. SMI125 or SMI1000 (the letters are normally the first 3 letters of your surname)
plus
- your email address as stored on our system – it is very important to use this email address and not a different one, as a combination of this address and the account code above will identify you to us and is how our website will recognise you as an existing customer.
If you are an existing customer and have the above details you can easily activate your account through our site by simply clicking on the option “Existing Customer?” on the Login page.
I have tried to login as an existing customer after receiving confirmation from armit using my account code and registered email address but this did not work.
Usually there is a simple explanation for this: you wanted to purchase something online, so you created a new account using the same email address as we already store for you on our system. This will block any future access to both your new and existing accounts, as two accounts with the same email address cannot be accepted. The computer will say “NO”…..
We have had several cases where customers created 5 or 6 new accounts, all with the same email address, in the hope that they could gain access in the end. Sadly this does not work and understandably they were very confused and frustrated as a result.
I hope this does not seem too complicated an arrangement but this is the only way we can offer you secure access to your account details, along with information on your previous purchases and details of wines you may keep in reserve.
I am a new customer and have tried to create a new account but this did not work.
Usually this will happen if you are an existing customer but have not used our services for a while and as a result you may not remember that you are already registered with us. You are trying to register as a new customer with the email address we already have for you on our system and this simply clashes with how we identify you as a customer – the same email can not be used for two different accounts.
