Domaine Blain Gagnard - 2005 En Primeur
A superb source of delicious Chassagne, Jean-Marc Blain is one of the most honest characters that you’ll meet in the Côte d’Or. He was philosophical about his drop in volumes in 2005, caused by a combination of some hail damage and naturally small berries but was delighted by the quality, comparing the wines stylistically to his wonderful 2002s. These are wines that are accessible young and offer teriffic value. His Criots is one of the best examples of this tiny vineyard that we have found.

Le Montrachet Grand Cru 2005
Jean-Marc chooses to vinify and age his Montrachet in a large, second year demi-muids to minimise oak influence. This permits a wine of discretion, restraint and grace to slowly evolve, building in intensity and displaying its tremendous depth. Notes of white pepper and spice. A treat in store. Drink from 2012.

Criots Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru 2005

Price per case in bond £585 - SOLD OUT
Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru 2005
A naturally rich vintage, allied to the broader, more muscular character of Bâtard required Jean-Marc's gentle hand. As a result he has maintained balance and typicity. A wine with a great future. Drink from 2012.
