Savigny lès Beaune Blanc Domaine Simon Bize |
£195.00 |
 |
Immediately inviting on the nose with floral, ripe citrus characters with hints of brioche and spices. There is an attractive tension on the palate between the soft stone fruit flavours and a lively, refreshing acidity. Delicious now, but a wine which will age nicely over the next few years. Drink from release.
Meursault
Domaine Faiveley |
£195.00 |
Sold Out |
Lovely attractive, mineral nose. Deliciously fresh 'Granny Smith' apples at the front; super mouthfilling, minerality and a touch of citrus. So complex and impressive it is more Premier Cru than Village; intensely satisfying and long finish. This is one not to be missed and perfect for drinking from release.
Puligny Montrachet
Domaine Blain Gagnard |
£250.00 |
 |
Pure grapefruit and stone fruit aromas abound on the nose but there is also great focus and definition. This carries through to the palate where pure, stone fruits mingle with more subtle white floral notes. There is great energy and persistence on the finish and while this wine will be delicious young, it has the capacity to age well for five years or more. Drink from 2013.
Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets
Domaine Fontaine Gagnard |
£395.00 |
Sold Out |
Pure, classic Chassagne, combining white fruits, a touch of honey and a dry, mineral character. On the palate there is notable concentration and intensity once more but also palpable energy. Drink from 2013.
Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru
Maison Roche de Bellène |
6 bottles £395.00 |
 |
This showed very well when we tasted with Nicolas with lovely, pure grapefruit and citrus notes on the nose, followed by silky smooth stone fruits on the palate with a hint of exotic spice. This is very pure, elegant wine which will become more complex with time in bottle. Drink from 2015.

Beaune 1er Cru Les Avaux
Domaine des Clos |
£195.00 |
 |
This will be delicious to drink in the next few years but the wine also has grip and depth. The aromas are sweet, juicy and dark, and the palate is vigorous and refreshing with dark, brambly fruit notes. Drink from 2012.
Vosne Romanée
Domaine Aurélien Verdet |
£295.00 |
 |
A wonderfully pure, attractive wine with supple, juicy cassis and sweet plum aromas and succulent, smooth berry fruit on the palate. Darker damson and fig characters in the background give a slightly exotic quality, all of which is balanced by appealing, mouthfilling tannins and great persistence and length. This wine will be simply delicious young but it has the power and finesse to mature for many years. Drink from 2015.
Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Belair
Domaine Taupenot Merme |
£395.00 |
Sold Out |
A fine, elegant style with sweet damson and plum characters on the nose with a fine mineral note in the background and a hint of savoury and lavender. The palate is very refined with a pure and refreshing fruit character. Drink from 2014.
Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts
Domaine Taupenot Merme |
6 bottles £425.00 |
 |
Complex, wild berry aromas with notes of flowers and herbs. On the palate there is an abundance of red forest fruits intermingled with truffle notes and a darker savoury character in the background, drawn together with fine tannins and refreshing acidity. This is an elegant, detailed wine which comes from a monople of Domaine Faiveley, higher up on the slopes of Gevrey. Drink from 2014.
Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru
Domaine Faiveley |
6 bottles £570.00 |
Sold Out |
Slightly restrained and mysterious at first this wine opens up to reveal opulent, rich fruit aromas. The palate is full of character with vigorous, delicate fruits and an exotic spicy character which has an aristocratic air. A fabulous wine with great energy and length. Drink from 2015.
Latricières Chambertin Grand Cru
Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux |
6 bottles £570.00 |
 |
A wine which opens up in the glass to reveal an abundance of wild strawberry and sweet forest fruit characters, with brambly and savoury notes in the background and a hint of sandalwood. There is a similar theme on the palate, with dark strawberry and red cherry fruits which evolve as the wine is exposed to air. Velvety tannins blend seamlessly with the elegant flavours and there is a delicate mineral note on the finish. The effect is very harmonious and smooth. Drink from 2017.
