Château des Hautes Ribes

Chateau des Hautes Ribes was built around 1830 in the heart of Vacqueyras territory. It was bought by the Claudel family in 1940 and is now run by Jean-Pierre Claudel. The vineyards stretch over 30 hectares, covered in vines of at least 35 years of age. The family tend the vineyards and vinify the wine in the state-of-the-art winery in the village. The 2006 Vacqueyras is a classic example of the vintage, offering abundant forward, succulent juicy fruit with perfect structure and balance.

Vacqueyras 2006

This is a cracking wine that never disappoints year on year. Concentrated black fruits, plenty of chocolate and a lick of spice and black pepper. Mouthwatering, concentrated fruits on the palate with chewy tannins to balance. This slips down all too easily, and compliments so many dishes so well, particularly roasted meats.
