We are delighted to introduce an exciting new venture from Anne-Claude Leflaive.

As a pioneer of the biodynamic movement Anne-Claude’s influence has extended around the world and many producers have been inspired by her reputation and her success with biodynamic methods and have committed to make the significant changes required to farm their land and make their wine the biodynamic way.
For a number of years now, Anne-Claude has been travelling around France to speak to biodynamic growers in a variety of locations and to discover their wines. As a result, she has found some extraordinary and highly individual wines, crafted with great passion and commitment by un-sung heroes of the biodynamic movement.
In Burgundy, Anne-Claude is now providing further incentive and encouragement for other growers by creating a boutique négociant to buy fruit from biodynamic vineyards.

Her team, under the experienced control of Domaine régisseur Eric Rémy, works with the vineyard owners throughout the year in the vines, taking full control at harvest time and then bringing the fruit back to the Domaine cellars in Puligny-Montrachet for vinification. To all intents and purposes, the only difference to the Domaine wines is the actual ownership of the vineyards themselves, hence the distinction of the Leflaive & Associés label.

This is a landmark venture from Anne-Claude that will encourage many more winemakers, both in Burgundy and beyond, to respect nature and to produce wines according to natural rhythms. For the consumer, the brilliance of the Leflaive team ensures that delicious wines of the highest calibre are produced with the added benefits of knowing that production is both sustainable and respectful of nature.

Rully Blanc 1er Cru 2009

£285.00 per 12 bottles Buy

From a holding of 40 year-old vines in 1er Cru Les Cloux. On the nose, this is already appealing with notes of white peach and summer fl owers. On the palate, a cleansing bite of acidity brings balance, with rounded textures to the fruit and an easy-natured style. There is excellent depth of material here and lovely healthy fruit dominating an engaging and refreshing finish. Drink from release. - armit

Monthélie Rouge 1er Cru Sur La Velle 2009

£285.00 per 12 bottles Buy

Sur La Velle is one of the best 1er Crus in Monthélie, effectively the continuation of the famous Volnay 1er Cru, Clos des Chênes. On the nose, notes of bright cherry, raspberry and a little spice are immediately evident. On the palate, the tannins are supple and the fruit is rich, vibrant and intense. There is a rawness to the wine at this stage, showing its youth, but after another winter in barrel and a year or two in bottle, it promises to be quite exquisite. Drink from 2012. - armit

Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2009

£495.00 per 6 bottles Buy

The first Côte de Nuits and indeed the first Grand Cru red ever made in the Domaine cellars and what a début! This is full, ripe and exuberant on the nose with notes of dark cherry, spice and a little liquorice. On the palate, there is a swirling mass of fruit, with tremendous depth and vigour, broad and palate-coating. Perfumes of peony and violet lift over the top of the wine before a long, sustained fi nish. Give this one the time it deserves. Drink from 2016. - armit
