Domaine Gagnard Delagrange - 2005 En Primeur
Tasting with Jacques Gagnard is a little adventure back in time. As an elder statesman of Chassagne, he has the use of a particularly long retrospectroscope but even he struggled to remember a vintage a perfect as 2005. His wines showed a lovely degree of elegance and freshness and deliver excellent value for money. We particularly liked the Boudriotte, which showed real finesse and a degree of tension that is a perfect counterpoint to the inherent richness of the vintage.

Creamy banana, rich and plump but with a crisp, smart finish. Already performing very well, drink from release.

An elegant Boudriotte with balance, tension and no little finesse. Should give much pleasure in its youth but has all the potential for graceful development in bottle too. Drink from 2008.

Very attractive pure red fruits mark this Chassagne Rouge. Tannins are very fine and fully integrated and this will be the perfect choice for drinking cellar cool on a breezy lunchtime. Drink from release.
