Le Volte

2004

The estate’s 2004 Le Volte, the entry-level wine, is a fresh, vinous effort with pretty aromatics, sweet ripe red fruit and herb flavors and an accessible personality. It is best enjoyed over the next three or four years. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2010. 87 points, The Wine Advocate #169

Lots of ripe fruit, yet slightly stewed in character. Medium-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best after 2007. 87 points, The Wine Spectator

2003

Ruby-red. Pleasant red cherry and smoke aromas are complemented by mint and spice. Soft and sweet on the palate, with juicy flavors of red cherry and plum fruit. Finishes with decent persistence. 86 points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar Sept/ Oct 2006

Aromas of blackberries, cherries and flowers. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. 87 points, The Wine Spectator
