Organic Sauvignon for MOMO

From the 2009 vintage Seresin Estate has released its first fully certified organic MOMO Sauvignon Blanc.

MOMO, meaning offspring in Maori, is a range of wines produced by Marlborough winery Seresin Estate. The wines are made using fruit from Seresin’s vineyards and those of a single contract grower. The 2009 MOMO Sauvignon Blanc is grown in vineyards located on the Wairau Plains of Marlborough and is the third fully certified organic Sauvignon Blanc to come from Seresin Estate, since the certification of the Marama Sauvignon Blanc in 2006.

The 2009 MOMO Sauvignon Blanc is the second certified organic wine in the MOMO range. From 2010 the full range of MOMO wines will be certified organic or in organic transition.

Seresin Estate General Manager, MJ Loza, says “at the end of the day, quality is what is most important to our consumers. The BioGro certification on the back label is an assurance for interested consumers – many of whom are increasingly skeptical about ‘green’ claims, but primarily we’ve been driven by the belief that organics is a better way to farm, and that it helps us make better wine.”

Pale in colour, with a light green hue. Aromas of passion fruit and ripe tropical fruit with a chalky minerality. The palate is rich and weighty; ripe fruit flavours are balanced by a focused acidity leading onto a lengthy finish.
