Jean-Marc Blain is a fan of 2008, referring to his wines as vins de plaisir that can be enjoyed young in the same vein as his 1997s, 1998s, 2001s and 2006s. He seemed remarkably untroubled by the growing season noting that he had normal yields, due in his opinion to the health of his vines. The various branches of the Gagnard family have always been committed vignerons and Jean-Marc is no exception. His beloved vines have produced wines with a clean, pure, fresh and vital feel. All were in bottle by the time we revisited in October 2009.
