In early April, the Bordelais launched their new vintage to the world and prices will shortly be revealed. The armit team have sniffed, sipped and expectorated hundreds of wines and the major critics have been busily posting their findings across the world wide web. Below is our assessment of the vintage, our top recommendations and a wishlist that you can fill in to be the first in the queue for the new releases. In short, 2007 was very nearly a disaster but a great September, accompanied by some enormous human effort and some exceptional talent has produced a small number of remarkable reds. The whites are very strong and in Sauternes, comparisons are made to great vintages such as 1988 and even to the fabulous 2001s.
