All wines are sold En Primeur and prices are quoted In Bond. Red Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Noirots 2007 Dark cherry and creamy notes, this is vinous, rich and already quite forward. Concentrated but balanced too, this is already suggesting early acquaintance. Drink from 2010. - armit A slightly riper and more complex if more deeply pitched nose of red berry, violet, rose petal and wet stone trimmed in a deft touch of wood spice dissolves into more complex and more powerful flavors that possess an attractive, even seductive mouth feel and very good if not truly distinguished length. Lovely. 2012+ 89-91 points, Allen Meadows' Burghound, Issue 33, January 2009 Very sweet and lively and a bit simple. Drink 2011-14 – 16 points, Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com, 30th January 2009 £400.00 per 12 (IB) – add to basket Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Fuées 2007 Spice, soft red fruits and sensuality, this is full of delicious raspberry coulis with a lovely pure, even paced and natural feel. Drink from 2010. - armit (from very young vines). A mostly fruit-driven nose of very high-toned red pinot and violet aromas is in keeping with the detailed, intense, precise and minerally barely middle weight flavors that culminate in a finish of real verve as well as more complexity that young vines normally are able to deliver. This isn’t dense but it’s certainly very pretty as well as displaying plenty of the classic Fuées minerality. 2011+ - 89-91 points, Allen Meadows' Burghound, Issue 33, January 2009 Sweetly spiced, almost like a fruit tea or mulled wine, but fresher. Dry, fine tannins are light but present and there's only just enough depth of fruit to balance the structure. Maybe with a little more time ... but not for the long term. Drink 2011-14 – 16 points, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, 30th January 2009 £400.00 per 12 (IB) – add to basket Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Chatelots 2007 The most backward of the four wines today, this is a little lofty and airy as a wine but it nonetheless impresses for its purity, vigour and style. Drink from 2011. - armit A wonderfully pure wet stone suffused nose of both red currant and blue berry fruit with just a whiff of menthol in the background complements the delicious, precise, intense and almost delicate flavors that are on the lighter side but the minerality gives a sense of lift to the sappy tension filled finish. Lovely and understated and this should drink well early. 2011+ - 89-91 points, Allen Meadows' Burghound, Issue 33, January 2009 £440.00 per 12 (IB) – add to basket Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Sentiers 2007 Seemingly cut from a different cloth, the Sentiers brings a burly, spicy, dark fruit element to the mix and a greater dimension and richness of flavour. Once again, this will be the most long lived cuvée. Drink from 2012. - armit (from vines planted in 1947). A discreet if not invisible touch of oak influence sets off ripe, serious and mildly somber red berry aromas nuanced by touches of earth, underbrush, minerality and fresh fennel that carries over to the delicious, rich, round and equally serious medium weight plus flavors that possess the best mid-palate concentration of any wine in the range while finishing with obvious minerality and excellent length. This is a wine of finesse and a certain delicacy yet it is blessed with the best overall material here. 2012+ - 89-92 points, Allen Meadows' Burghound, Issue 33, January 2009 Fruit and oak a bit disjointed. Drink 2011-15 – 16 points, Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com, 30th January 2009 £470.00 per 12 (IB) – add to basket |
Harvesting began on 3rd September and good use was made of the sorting table, one of many pieces of kit which have enabled the wines to jump so spectacularly in quality here since the 2005s. The wines are embued with a fantastic fresh, vital feel and will give great appeal in their youth.
