Red

Aloxe Corton 2007

This is comfortable in its skin, offering generous dark fruits on the nose with spice seasoning. The tannins are very fine with just the right amount of wood (10-15% new) to add a little extra polish. This is well-crafted and a vintage that shows that Aloxe can also achieve finesse. Drink from 2011. - armit

Light, sweet and very lightly jammy but pure though pretty skinny. And chewy. Drink 2012-16 – 15.5 points, Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com, 27th January 2009

£220.00 per 12 (IB) – SOLD OUT

Aloxe Corton 1er Cru Vercots 2007

Wild strawberry and cherry notes in a fresh, vigorous display. This is surprisingly powerful and serious, with plenty of drive and purpose. Drink from 2011. - armit

£310.00 per 12 (IB) – SOLD OUT

Corton Grand Cru 2007

With abundant wild fruit on the nose and no lack of flair, this is a Corton that is once again more inviting than it is retiring. Fresh, suave and with plenty of sweet fruit, this is friendly, accessible but as ever, with an extra gear in reserve. Drink from 2012. - armit

Brighter red fruit aromas than the Aloxe. Rich, dark spicy fruit with real depth of fruit flavour and a savoury finish. Tannins are firmer than in many 07s but they are rounded and filled out by the fruit. Drink 2011-17 – 17.5 points, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, 27th January 2009

£450.00 per 12 (IB) – SOLD OUT

Romanée St Vivant Grand Cru 2007

The fragrances of rose, peony and violets that hang in the air immediately indicate something very fine and very seductive. The palate continues in a sumptuous style, balanced and concentrated for sure but without ever having to proclaim it too loudly, such is the ease and the natural conviction. With further time, extra weight and density will be added with the end result of a something truly classic. Drink from 2013. - armit

Very clear and fresh and with great integrity. Such savoury freshness! Lively and readable and confident. Really racy and excellent. Drink 2012-20 – 18.5 points, Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com, 27th January 2009

£1,700.00 per 12 (IB) – SOLD OUT

2007 vintage report

Right into mid-August, the threat of under-ripeness loomed but by the time he started harvesting on 28th August, both he and the vines were benefitting from fine conditions. The work that Franck had undertaken to boost the air circulation had kept his vines healthy and they quickly responding by rapidly increasing in sugar levels and aromatic richness.

Frank Follin of Domaine Follin Arbelet

Realising the sensitivity of the young wines, Franck has been particularly gentle and he has been rewarded as the wines have taken on flesh and matter in the barrel to complement their depth of fragrance. The vineyards of the hill of Corton remain terra incognita for some and if this is you, then you really should head to the Follin table on 14th January.
