Château Lafleur Singe Vintages 1999-2006
Château Lafleur Single Vintage 1995-1998
Exclusive Vertical Release of Ex-Château Stock
We have been discussing with the Guinaudeaus for some time a release of pristine château aged stock. Quantities are of course tiny, but Jacques and Sylvie have historically held back small amounts of wine each vintage. We are delighted to offer the choice of a vertical collectors’ case or full cases of individual vintages to armit clients now.
Exclusive Vertical Collectors’ Case - £5500
Château Lafleur has created eighteen individually numbered verticals of Château Lafleur, featuring one bottle each from the 1995 vintage through to 2006. These are offered exclusively by armit in the UK. Each vertical is packed in two special wooden cases, each containing six bottles. Each wooden case is marked with the vintages in the case and every bottle has a unique seal applied at Château Lafleur to guarantee the provenance of the wines.
A dozen years of Lafleur
For those looking for full cases, the Guinaudeaus have also released a small quantity of wines by the case spanning 12 years from 1995 – 2006. The number of cases available varies by vintage – we will sell these on a first come first served basis so please do not delay, as availability is small.
Château Lafleur Single Vintages 1999-2006

Château Lafleur 2006
price per case In Bond £2950 per 6 bottles
An outstanding Lafleur which has incredible elegance and poise. Deep red berry and cherry aromas are intermingled with with notes of roses, violets and spices. Grippy on the finish but full bodied with sweet, sumptuous flavours and complex mineral characters. The tannins are very refined and harmonious. This exceptional wine needs at least a decade more in bottle and will provide many years of rewarding drinking thereafter. Drink from 2020 to 2060.
“The 2006 Lafleur, which I had not tasted from bottle prior to this visit, merits 95 points. One of the vintate’s most brilliant wines, this blend of 61% Merlot and 39% Cabernet Franc is neither as dense nor complete as the 2008, but it is structured, closed, and austere (as are many 2006s at present). It reveals a plum/purple color along with a beautifully sweet nose of black and red fruits intermixed with incense as well as a steely/iron-like smell. More open on the palate than the 2008, with more obvious spice and earthy undertones, this powerful Lafleur should be drinkable in 5-7 years, and will last for three decades. Wine Advocate, April 2009, Robert Parker 95
Château Lafleur 2005
price per case In Bond £5500 per 6 bottles
The 2005 is truly majestic with intense, ripe, rich berry aromas intermingled with notes of exotic spices. Opulent and complex, it has very intense, multi-layered fruit characters with hints of truffles and dark chocolate, balanced by refined and complex tannins. Drink from 2018 to 2040+.
“Tasted blind, this was rather unfair to Lafleur that needs time to open up. Here it has a remarkably deep garnet core, the nose broody and unwilling to participate in this blind charade! Good definition but surly, yet there is obviously superb ripeness with Xmas cake and a touch of fig. The palate is very well structured, very powerful with vibrant Cabernet Franc, touches of tobacco and underbrush towards the finish. Real depth, here, nice savoury edge, great length. Tannic finish. Drink 2020-2050+ Tasted January 2009." Wine Journal, July 2009, Neal Martin 96+
Château Lafleur 2004
price per case In Bond £1800 per 6 bottles
A wonderfully intense, tightly structured, multi-dimensional wine and one of the finest of the vintage. It has an expansive bouquet with notes of liquorice, red berries and redcurrants, and deep, almost spicy flavours balanced by firm but harmonious tannins. This is a wine with elegance and complexity which will give years of pleasurable drinking. Drink from 2015 to 2030.
“This still has a very intense, tightly wound nose with pure black fruits with a little tar and tobacco. Rather closed at the moment and probably in need of serious decanting. The palate is just the kind of Pomerol I like: amazingly fresh, harmonious with an unerring sense of symmetry. Masculine, assertive, bold tannins that are still unresolved with layers of blackberry, tobacco, smoke and briary on the long finish. It is definitely one of the great wines of the vintage and if you like elegance and poise, go for this over the 2005. Drink 2020-2045+. Tasted September 2008.” Wine Journal, Nov 2008, Neal Martin 96
Château Lafleur 2003
price per case In Bond £2500 per 6 bottles
A wine of fabulous purity and nobility with rich flavours and wonderful complexity. The phenomenal richness and power is perfectly balanced by the ripe, pure fruit and fine grained tannins. Delicious now but will continue to drink superbly over the next decade or two. Drink from 2010 to 2030.
“The exotic, nearly over the top 2003 exhibits a southern Rhone-like characteristic of kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries and flowers … a broad, expansive, terrific example of Lafleur that should be at its finest between 2008 – 2025. Along with Petrus, this stunning, full-bodied 2003 is a candidate for the top wine of Pomerol. Drink: 2008 – 2025." Wine Advocate, April 2006, Robert Parker 95
Château Lafleur 2001
price per case In Bond £1600 per 6 bottles
Incredibly elegant, bouquet of red fruit, herbs and sweet tobacco with hints of wood smoke. It possesses beautiful balance with firm yet refined tannins and subtle, red berry fruit flavours. Approachable now but will be increasingly delicious over the years to come. Drink from 2010 to 2030.
"Performing slightly less impressively from bottle than it did from cask, this wine’s Cabernet Franc element has come forward, revealing a distinctive herbal, bell pepper, vegetal character that kept my score from going higher. Nevertheless, there is plenty to like about this 2001 Pomerol. It possesses a saturated ruby/purple color, powerful aromas (kirsch liqueur, raspberries, and blackberries), an earthy, muscular, chunky character, and the most tannic personality of any Pomerol I tasted. While not the huge blockbuster Lafleur can often produce, it is well-built. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019." Wine Advocate, June 2004, Robert Parker 92
Château Lafleur 2000
price per case In Bond £7950 per 6 bottles
The 2000 Lafleur has incredibly intense aromas with complex notes of herbs, dark berries and tobacco. Wonderfully elegant and concentrated on the palate with layers of rich fruit balanced by silky, smooth, refined tannins. A wine of aristocratic quality with incredible poise and focus and a powerful finish. It will continue to develop over the next thirty years. Drink from 2015 to 2045.
“I am not surprised the 2000 Lafleur has garnered the magical three-digit score. From bottle, the wine boasts a dense plum/purple color in addition to a gorgeous nose of kirsch liqueur intermixed with hints of black truffles, raspberries, and minerals. The tannin is present, but seems to creep up only upon intense inspection. Lafleur is enormously endowed, rich, and full-bodied, with a tremendous chewiness and, at the same time, sensuality. Pure, massive, and rich … this is a remarkable achievement, and … just maybe the finest Lafleur since the 1982. Drink: 2012 – 2040.” Wine Advocate, April 2003, Robert Parker 100
Château Lafleur 1999
price per case In Bond £1500 per 6 bottles
Amazingly rich and ripe on the nose with expressive, complex black cherry and cassis notes, intermingled with spices and exotic herbs. Remarkably concentrated and rich for the vintage with very fine, elegant tannins which makes this a very classic Lafleur. Delicious now but will become even more expressive over the following decade. Drink from 2010 to 2030.
“This wine is a brilliant success, it is one of the stars of the vintage. Lafleur’s 1999 is atypically powerful and concentrated, with an inky, saturated purple color followed by a sensational nose of black cherry jam intermixed with liquid minerals, raspberries, and licorice. It is super concentrated, extraordinarily pure, with moderately high tannin. This dense, powerful, impressively endowed wine should turn out to be a classic for Lafleur.” Wine Advocate, Apr 2002, Robert Parker 93 Drink: 2008 – 2025
