Domaine Gagnard Delagrange

The wonderful Jacques Gagnard is now producing tiny quantities of wine, as more and more of his holdings are passed down the family line. However, this master of Chassagne has used all of his many years of knowledge to produce a fine vintage with discreet, subtle wines that he compares to 2002 although perhaps with a little more fat and richness. It is always a pleasure to spend time in the company of someone with such abundant talent, great experience and dedication to their métier.

White Wines

Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeots 2006

A masterful composition, this is bright and bold with white nuts and flowers intermixing. A subtle peachiness adds the all important fruit. With depth and a sense of confidence, this is a wine that will certainly keep well but should drink very well in its youth. Drink from 2009.

A fine, elegant and airy feel pervades this cuvee. The floral notes are beautifully captured and there is a natural sense of balance and precision. Drink from 2009.

Red Wines

Chassagne Montrachet Rouge 2006

A blend of fruit from Clos St Jean and Morgeot, this is full of tender red fruits and crunchy, bright acidity. Always pale colour, Jacques believes in a natural extraction which shows in the unforced, softened tannins. Straight and true. Drink from 2009.
