Domaine Jean-Marc Millot

One of the most genuine, honest and down-to-earth characters that you will meet in the Côte, Jean-Marc Millot’s star is very much in the ascendant and his wines have been winning fans at an indecent rate ever since we persuaded him to come to London and show his 2006s. Three vintages later, we understand his secrets even more – his gentle hand and careful, precise approach allow a pure, natural expression of Pinot and his vineyards include some of the finest parcels available. While his prices remain at these levels, these are an absolute must for anyone looking to acquire the wines of tomorrow’s superstar at yesterday’s prices.

Domaine Marc Morey

The Mollard family, lead by the genial Bernard and ably supported by daughter Sabine, consider that 2008 shares many similarities with 2007 but as a result of the final flourish in September, the wines are more concentrated than the prior vintage. Harvesting started here on 25th September and was completed on 2nd October. For those unfamiliar with the Domaine, the Mollards seek perfume and finesse and rejoice in the expression of fruit. Early drinking is nearly always possible too but as many more mature bottles enjoyed with them have shown (a 1995 Chenevottes recently was a real highlight), these wines do not need to be hurried if you have the time.
