Mulderbosch
“At Mulderbosch we believe that wine is a complex substance, demanding great intuition in its making. This, combined with hard work and dedication, produces the quality that earned Mulderbosch wines their reputation.”

Full Mulderbosch Wine Selection
Mulderbosch is widely accepted to be one of the best wine producers in South Africa, and winemaker Richard Kershaw is considered to be one of the most talented upcoming vignerons in the country. Together with his assitant winemakers, the team create handcrafted wines with great character and individuality that consistentily win awards.

History
The Mulderbosch farm was bought in 1989 as a dilapidated, run-down farm. The buildings were completely renovated and the first wines were planted. The results were impressive; the wines received glowing accolades and a host of awards. Today, Mulderbosch produce around 45,000 cases per year.
The Estate
Situated in the superior Koelenhof area of Stellenbosch, the wind tunnel effect cools the vineyards during the hot summer. Although dedicated to the production of premium wines, the Estate prides itself on environmental awareness, leaving over half of the farmland uncultivated and open to wildlife and vegetation.
The Wines
The flagship Sauvignon Blanc is referred to as “South Africa’s most celebrated Sauvignon” by John Platter and the list of accolades is ever increasing. It proves to be a success story every year, resulting in a wine of outstanding quality and complexity. The Faithful Hound label celebrates the memory of a dog who, when abandoned by his master, kept a three year vigil outside an empty cottage on the Mulderbosch Farm. This Bordeaux-style blend, harvested from relatively young vines, is richly concentrated and reflects mature low-yielding bush vines, which are all hand worked. The philosophy of Mulderbosch remains the same: quality, not quantity, and the Estate is widely accepted to be one of the best white wine producers in the country.

"My memories of John Armit go back more than ten years. I remember my first visit to the John Armit offices clearly; it was a scorchingly hot summer’s day in London when I arrived to first meet with John Armit. It was rather intimidating walking into an open plan office that looked more like a stock exchange trading floor. Our Managing Director, Ben Truter, and I had got all toffed-up in suit and tie and we were led to the glass roofed ‘sun-lounge’. I’m sure it was carefully planned because we had no sooner sat down when I began to feel the effect of my suit and tie coupled with hothouse heat. I started to sweat from pores I didn’t know I had! John sat there as cool as cucumbers and very soon we were agreeing with everything they said in a desperate bid to free ourselves from the John Armit sauna! I’m sure the John Armit team have used this very effective tactic on many of their producers."
