armit Favourites - what the team is drinking now...
Welcome to the armit's Favourites list. We all love the wines we represent and want to tell you how much we love them! All prices quoted inc. duty and VAT unless otherwise stated.
Lunae Vermentino Colli di Luni DOC 2008, Liguria
£155.40 per case 12 - add to basket
A newcomer to our list that we are extremely excited about. Beautifully crafted and perfectly balanced - it knocked my socks off…. Sara Faulkner - Buyer
Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Maltroie 2007, Domaine Fontaine Gagnard
£381.01 per case 12 - add to basket
For great white burgundy that doesn’t break the bank, I recommend Domaine Fontaine Gagnard- the most consistent source in Chassagne and one of the most fairly priced in the Côte. Treat yourself to a 1er cru such as the sublime 2007 Chassagne Montrachet La Maltroie. Mike Laing - Buying and Private Client Sales Director
Château Lafleur 1999 x 6, Pomerol
£1773.81 per case 6 - add to basket
Another winner from Jacques Guinaudeau. The 1999 is now drinking beautifully. It needs decanting ideally, then just see how many different fruit and other flavours you can smell. Great length too. Richard Sutton - Director of Export
Barrua 2006 Agricola Punica, Sardinia
£167.40 per case 6 - add to basket
Gorgeously scented and fleshy with intense black fruit, licorice and dark chocolate aromas. The palate is similarly fleshy and ripe, beautiful poised and balanced, lovely extract, fresh acidity with a sumptuous black fruit, coffee and dark chocolate richness giving a long full flavoured finish. Superb. Phil Weeks - On Trade and Independent Sales Director
Meursault 2006 x 6, Mischief and Mayhem
£175.82 per case 6 - add to basket
It’s perfect with roast chicken for Sunday lunch! Steven Weids - Private Client Sales
Hermitage 2004 x 6 Magnums, Domaine du Colombier
£398.63 per case 6 mags - add to basket
No critic’s tasting note available but trust me this 2004 Rhône is a fabulous glass of wine and what is more this is the best price on the market. It is a joy to drink with beautifully ripe and concentrated dark fruit and a gorgeously intense finish. I found it dangerously drinkable at a restaurant recently and the adjoining table ordered it as well on tasting ours! I guarantee you will love it. Piers German - Private Client Sales
Montelciego Riserva 2004, Rioja
£77.10 per case 6 - add to basket
Montelciego Riserva 2004 is a wine perfect for any occasion may it be for a party or to be enjoyed at home with a roasted leg of lamb! The average age of the Tempranillo vines is 30 years which adds to the complexity and concentrated dark fruit flavours with hints of vanilla and spice. This Riserva at sub £13 a bottle offers excellent value for money! Jacqui Renirie - Private Client Sales
Dolcetto d'Alba 2008, Bruno Giacosa
£212.40 per 12 - add to basket
Made with fruit sourced from prime hillside vineyard sites under the Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa label, this wine is packed full of juicy, ripe cherries on the nose and palate with vibrant fruit and bitter chocolate on the finish. The style is much more feminine than some wines from the area which ensures that it is delicious for drinking now but will also last a few more years. Lucy Marcuson - Marketing Manager
Viña Alberdi 2003, La Rioja Alta
£179.88 per case 12 - add to basket
I was really impressed with this wine when we first tried it in the office... just lovely! Paul Richards - Reserves Supervisor
Borthwick Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007, Wairarapa
£191.88 per case 12 - add to basket
Full of fruit on the nose with a pleasing and complex palate, this wine is perfect for summer barbecues or with Michelin-star food. Rhian Rosser - armit online
