Located in the Médoc district of Bordeaux, this small appellation contains 3 of the 5 first growths, namely Châteaux Lafite, Latour and Mouton-Rothschild, as well as a cache of other classed growths. Considered the quintessence of Cabernet Sauvignon production, the wines are classically redolent of cedar, cassis and cigar box, although the expression of terroir throughout Pauillac accounts for the considerable variation between properties.
