“A year of small yields but good quality, there is weight and length in the wines and they will drink well after two to three years, with a potential of 10-15 years of further keeping. The slow élévage in the cellar is something I like, a very good sign of fine quality”

Patrick Bize was another grower delighted with his 2008s after a season of putting in the hard yakka in the vineyards. Harvesting was underway here on 25th September and immediately Patrick and his talented assistant winemaker Guillaume Bott noticed excellent freshness in the young wines, bright fruit and considerable transparency. As ever, we continue to admire this Domaine enormously and anybody who is looking for outstanding value in Burgundy should have Bize at the top of the priority list.
